Parks and Rec

Recently, I visited my friend G. up in the northern half of the state, and we took a few minutes to pop in for a little nature fix at Rainbow Springs. We only had about 1/2 hour for our visit, so here are a few photos for you to enjoy.

At the top of the hill, you can see the river down below.
Yes, it's really that clear turquoise!

Moving on, here we can see downriver.

Here we were a bit closer and the elephant ears make a nice contrast.

A white egret takes in some sun while looking for some food.

As you wander through the park, you find these little spots of!

Overhead, the spanish moss.....

And down in the water, moss covered rocks.

playing around with HDR photo in B&W

I took these photos on my way back home to Florida. After three years in Cali with many days of cloudless skies, I'm now partially obsessed with clouds-they add a certain flair to images and it's never the same thing twice. I'm also playing with some HDR (high dynamic range) photography-I'm probably doing it wrong but what the hell, I like it. Enjoy.

classic moments

Thursday, sitting in class, a student wanders in late, looking for a place to sit. We all sort of stare at him for a few seconds, no one recognizing him.

Finally, someone says, "Are you sure you're in the right class?"

He looks around confused, "Isn't this 314?"

"No, this is 415."

"I thought 314 was in here on Tuesdays."

"It's Thursday."

"Really? Today's Thursday?"

"Uh, yeah..." several people answer.

As he heads out the door, the teacher says, "Back to the bar."
