So, it's two weeks till Christmas. I've been back in Florida since 2009 and life is good. I've got my warmth back. I no longer have to carry a sweatshirt with me everywhere I go! In fact, today the weather bug is predicting highs of over 80F. Yes, that is correct. 80+. Mid-december.

And actually, I have a confession to make. I can't say I would mind a little nip in the air. No rain please, but just a little nip would be quite nice right about now. (Of course, with my luck, instead of a little nip, Jack Frost will sneeze his icy cold snot down here and we'll get a big chill. It's happened before. Unseasonably warm, lovely weather followed by record-breaking lows. I hope not.)

Wherever you are, stay warm, stay well and happy holidays!

Ombre? Seriously?

Has anyone else seen L'Oreal's commercial for hair color they've called "Ombre?"
I've seen it a couple of times and I have to laugh every time.
You see the beautiful model; her hair is dark at the top then becomes blond at the bottom.
Does anyone else remember the days we called those... ROOTS?

part of the iPhone-ography...they have this cool app that creates this faded look with the blur and it. Even random things look more interesting, like my old bracelets.

Yes, I realize how boring it is to talk about the weather, but I am simultaneously pleased and perplexed by what the hell is going on. A couple of years ago, we had one of the coldest winters down here in South Florida. Iguanas were dropping out of trees dead from the cold, there was a record number of sea turtle rescues for cold, not to mention the manatees. And this year? Warm, warm, warm....

This might be one of the warmest winters we've had in over 30 years. Which is great! Yet also disturbing. While I love my warm weather, I know this is not normal. Not for this long period of time. I remember one winter-oh, it was fabulous! It was so warm and I spent the days of Christmas break at the beach, even swimming! A few weeks later, we were hit with record cold! That is more normal, the pendulum swings back and forth-warm, cold, warm, cold. Who knows? Maybe this is a bigger pendulum? Instead of measuring it in days or weeks, it's moved on to years... a few years ago, the longest cold spell, and this year, the longest warm spell?
Maybe I should just shut up and enjoy it while it lasts...
